Like the most people we joined a tour from Kathmandu to Lhasa. This is sure not the only way to enter Tibet, but it is probably the must convenient. To get to Tibet as an individual traveler is as good as impossible, at least if you like to be in Tibet legally.

After a few days we were acclimatized and our metabolism slowed down again, what meant we could not eat that much any more. So we decided to go one level higher and visit the Nam Tso Lake which is at an altitude of 4750m. That the lake and his surrounding is famous for his beauty was secondary(just kidding).

Yes, we also spent some days in Lhasa and walked through the streets and across the squares. Here are just a few pictures as representatives of the many impressions we were allowed to collect.

Actually we did not intend to go to Mt. Kailash. We were ready to go on a trek, on a 4-day trek from Ganden to Samye. But then we meet this girl – and so everything changed and we went on a journey which we sure will remember

After returning from Mt. Kailash we visited another monastery in the area around Lhasa. One of them was the Samye Monastery, a temple and monastery complex built as a mandala.
